In 2011, we brought together the exquisite craftsmanship of Taiwan’s century-old pastry artisans, committed to preserving the original intent and techniques of traditional pastry-making. From product development, raw material selection, production process management, to packaging design, we strive to create minimally processed, additive-free products. The concept of "A Century of Refined Taiwanese Flavors" marks the beginning of Bainian Chuanqi, our brand dedicated to reviving Taiwan’s classic flavors. With unwavering dedication and commitment, we have sought to recreate the cherished tastes embedded in Taiwan’s culinary memory, breathing new life into tradition and crafting Taiwanese gifts that combine culture with creativity.
In 2014, under the leadership of CEO Zhang Xianwen, who gained valuable insights from years of observation and study, and with the support of master pastry artisans, we established our own factory specializing in the production of peanut brittle and saqima. Throughout the production process, we not only adhere to traditional craftsmanship but also meticulously select high-quality, additive-free ingredients from across Taiwan, ensuring each product delivers pure and natural flavors.
We carefully source Tainan No. 9 peanuts, also known as "oil peanuts," which were specially cultivated and improved by Taiwan’s Agricultural Research and Extension Station. Known for their small size, rich aroma, and optimal oil content, they are the ideal choice for roasting and making confections. For our Golden Ratio Peanut Brittle, we select Tainan No. 9 peanuts grown in the fertile Huatung Valley. Every step of the process—from sorting and roasting the peanuts to crafting the final product—is performed with precision and care to ensure the perfect crispy texture and rich peanut flavor. After thousands of trials and adjustments, we achieved the perfect golden ratio, creating a peanut brittle that is fragrant, crisp, crunchy, and never sticky. This dedication has made it one of the most popular products in the market.
We have reimagined the traditional soft saqima by transforming it into a crispy version with a firmer texture. The entire production process is free of leavening agents and yeast, relying solely on the natural fermentation properties of flour, paired with low-temperature fermentation techniques to highlight the purest taste of the dough. For the black sugar flavor saqima, we use Feilong Yuanxiang Sugar from Nanhua, refined using traditional methods without additives. Unlike the artificial black sugar flavor commonly found in the market, our saqima offers consumers a natural, worry-free taste experience.
The Qiaoduosi Series is an innovative creation inspired by traditional saqima, incorporating 72% bittersweet dark chocolate, yogurt, and roselle to breathe new life into this classic treat. The series introduces modern creativity to traditional pastries, presenting a new level of texture and flavor. When chilled, the delicate and refreshing taste is even more enjoyable, perfectly meeting the dual demands of today’s consumers for quality and innovation.
Beyond developing our own brand, Bainian Chuanqi actively expands its business into the hospitality sector by providing high-quality in-room snacks for hotels, allowing guests to experience the authentic taste of Taiwan during their stay. At the same time, we continue to promote cross-industry collaborations, working hand in hand to enter the consumer market. Additionally, we have expanded into international retail markets, with our products now available in Hong Kong, Singapore, Canada, Japan, and mainland China.
